Layout Notes (v3 — Blueprint Verified)
TV Wall (north): The WIDE wall at 125" (10'4"). Radiator occupies ~24" at the NW corner near the window. Usable TV wall is ~101" to the right of the radiator. Dropped smoke arch marks the transition to the kitchenette. Two duplex outlets + Cat6/coax on this wall.
Viewing distance (N→S): 84" (7'0") from TV wall to murphy bed wall. At this distance, a 55-65" TV is optimal (THX/SMPTE guidelines recommend screen size ÷ 0.625 for viewing distance).
Living room shape: L-shaped open space. Main rectangle (125" × 84") plus a 60" wide passage south of the kitchen column connecting to the entry. Murphy bed fits against the south wall (shared with bathroom partition).
Windows (west wall): Two windows — one for the living room (new, replaces fire-damaged), one for the bathroom. Both "NEW WINDOW EX. OPENING" per blueprint.
Kitchen (NE corner): 5'5" × 5'5". Counter + sink on north wall, stove, fridge, microwave. Partially open to living room via opening in divider wall. Additional cabinets TBD.
Bathroom (SW corner): 5'0" × 5'0". Tub, sink, toilet. Own window on west wall. Bidet outlet installed.
Red pen verification (Mike's measurements): 84" = living room depth on west wall. 180" = exterior N-S dimension. 30" = closet depth. 60" = passage width (printed as 5'-0"). 65" = kitchen depth (printed as 5'-5").

Scenes (Siri / HomeKit)
"Movie Night" — TV gradient strip syncs with content. Living room lights off. Kitchen off. Accent play bars at 5% warm amber.
"Welcome Home" — Entry motion sensor triggers. Entry + living room at warm white 50%. Kitchen at 30%. Fades after 10 min if no motion.
"Cooking" — Kitchen bright cool white (4000K). Living room ambient warm 20%. Bathroom off.
"Wind Down" — All zones dim to 10% warm (2200K). Gradually dims over 30 minutes. Auto-off at midnight.
"Morning" — Gradual brightening: bathroom first (6:30am, warm→bright), then living room (6:45am), then kitchen (7:00am). Simulates sunrise.
"All Off" — Everything off. Can be triggered by "Hey Siri, goodnight" or via the Hue motion sensor leaving-home routine.
Setup Notes
Hue Bridge placement: Near the Verizon Fios router (entry area or kitchen counter). Needs ethernet connection to the router. Controls all bulbs via Zigbee — no Wi-Fi needed per bulb.
HomePod Mini: Acts as HomeKit hub for remote access and automations. Place in the living room for best Siri pickup. Controls all Hue scenes via voice.
TV sync (optional upgrade): Hue Sync Box ($230) connects between TV and streaming device. Matches the Play Gradient strip colors to on-screen content in real time.
Bulb compatibility: All fixtures need standard E26 (A19) base or recessed BR30. Check existing fixture types before purchasing. White Ambiance for utility rooms (kitchen, bath, entry). White & Color for living room (for movie/accent scenes).
Estimated cost: Bridge ($60) + 2× Color A19 ($80) + 3× White Ambiance A19 ($60) + Gradient Strip ($180) + 2× Play Bar ($100) + Motion Sensor ($40) + HomePod Mini ($99) = ~$620 total.
